Changing Colours

When i first saw you, I was nervous,

I could feel the frost in the air.

We were so young, I was red faced,

But i could see that you didn’t care.

You came closer, came towards me,

I bit my tongue just to see what you might say.

You took me by the hand, and asked to meet me,

For one evening, on the day when,

The sky changed colour,

As we held onto one another,

Wherever you will go, I will follow.

And now, we’re here,

After all these years.

Some men rise, some men fall,

While we’re still standing tall.

We got older, but we stayed happy,

No-one ever could break this spell,

We never forced it, we never fought it,

We’ve made a thousand stories to tell.

We’ve had our fair share, of grey skies.

We’ve let our lips meet tears from our eyes,

But when i look back, it was worth it,

It was always there,

When the sky changed colour,

All of this has made us stronger,

An Australian friend just told me about Morning Glory Clouds of Carpentaria, a phenomenon that happens in a specific place in Australia almost every morning between September and mid-November. They’re ‘wave’ clouds that roll across the sky; they can be be up to 620 miles long, often float only 100-200 metres above the ground and move at speeds up to 37 miles per hour … sometimes there’s only one cloud, sometimes there are up to eight consecutive rolling clouds. Check out these pictures of them they’re freakish and beautiful x
